NASSCO UNION MEMBERS VOTE

On Sept. 19th, 2012, NASSCO union members voted to amend their current contract. They voted by majority to take a lump sum payment of $3000.00 instead of the $0.85/hr wage increase scheduled for Oct. 1st 2012. NASSCO asked the employees to take the lump sum payment to help the company be more competitive in its bids for new work. The strength of having a union gave the workers the opportunity of having a vote in their terms of employment. If there was no union, the workers would not have a say or a vote. IT PAYS TO BE UNION!!
